Something in between Aperol and Campari, for a Spritz that will please everyone.

Description

Established in 1860 by Galdino Caselli, this is the first artisanal distillery to produce Nocino (the local, traditional walnut liqueur) for commercial purposes in the backroom of their drugstore in the center of Sassuolo. At the time the endeavour was ridiculed by the town’s inhabitants – as centenary traditions dictate, every household of the Modena area handcrafted its own balsamic vinegar and Nocino; who would they sell to?

Persistence paid off with the recognition of the Gold Medal at the International Expo of Rome 1924, all the way to the recent awards at International Spirit Challenge 2015.

The distillery is still family owned and now managed by Francesco Caselli; who is still using some of the founders’ original recipes (secretly guarded).

Saxol was created to stylistically sit halfway between Aperol and Campari, so you can make a Spritz that will please everyone.

Only available in 1lt bottle.
